Rainy Day at the Lake

I love going to the lake.  Especially Cisco lake because I have so many fond memories of growing up so close by.  It always feels so calming being near a large body of water.   Today was a little different though. The wind was blowing so hard and cold and the lake was so choppy from all the waves the wind was pushing around.  There was quite a bit of fog sometimes so much you couldn't quite see all the way across as you usually can.  The weather does not defer me from taking photos... It's usually an added bonus.  It's not something you see every day and makes it a little more interesting to look at because of it's uniqueness. I used that and made the photo as calming and as beautiful as I see it to be!

Vermilion Batteas {Ballet}

Vermilion is one of the cutest little girls I know!  She is so natural in front of the camera and such a joy to photograph. This is the last year that ballet will be offered in our small community and I am glad I have a chance to capture this before it is too late!

Vermilion found this heart cactus.. (She loves hearts!) I just had to take a photo for her!

Sarah Schaefer {Senior 2011}

I had to cancel the first photo session I had scheduled with Sarah because I was feeling horrible. My nose was runny and itchy and my eyes were so watery! Luckily we were able to reschedule and I am so glad we could. I met with Sarah over spring break and we had a blast with her photo shoot!  She was the best kind of client.  She had lots of fun outfits and she knew what she wanted and what she liked. She loves vintage and modern styles of photography and that helped me come up with some awesome ideas for her session.

Race & Chelsea Henry

I have known Race and Chelsea Henry for a very long time...   We went to high school together at the famous Cisco High School. :) (Although they are both a grade or two below mine.)  I also played softball in jr. high and high school with Chelsea.  Chelsea is now an elementary school teacher and Race is an amazing musician.  They are one of the sweetest couples I've ever met and I am so happy that I was chosen to photograph them!

The Wilks Family [Levi, Lillian, Grace, & Lyla]

I had the pleasure to photograph this sweet family this past Sunday. (March 6th) I photographed their wedding in September and was so happy to get the e-mail that they wanted me to come back and give them some family photos to hang in their new home and to show off their newest little girl! It's so great to be able to surround myself with such awesome families and people! I love my job!
